Toronto has made learning about its history fun through historic sites such as the Old Fort York, Casa Loma and Black Creek Pioneer Village. You could also book a day or two on a sightseeing bus to find some of the city’s main attractions, restaurants and shopping districts at street level. If you dare, you could get a bird’s eye view of the city from the world-famous Edge Walk at the top of the CN Tower. If that does not meet your fancy, take in the breathtaking views through the observation deck’s glass floor. Whether visiting Toronto as a tourist or embracing the city as your home, one could spend endless days trying to visit all the incredible spots the city has to offer.
The city of Toronto offers so many housing options for families, retirees, business professionals, and students. Toronto’s unique neighbourhoods cover a wide range of services, parks, schools, and community centres. The revitalized downtown core is the ultimate in condo living; close to the business corridor, shopping centres, restaurants, sports games and entertainment. Find a unique and original home on the waterfront near The Beaches, or head uptown to a smaller, more close-knit community with small boutiques, restaurants, pubs and fitness clubs. You could also head east or west along the lake to find your perfect waterfront community. There’s a perfect place in Toronto for everyone to call home. Contact Joshua Campbell for more information about Toronto’s neighbourhoods.
Toronto has mastered the art of capturing the hearts of generations of Canadians and welcoming newcomers to the GTA. As Canada’s largest city, Toronto is one of the most multicultural communities in the world with many diverse neighbourhoods. Toronto has been recognized as one of Canada’s best diversity employers and Canada’s best employers for recent graduates. It is a big supporter of small businesses and provides essential incentives to help get them up and running. In recent years, Toronto has seen a boost in the construction industry, IT field and natural resources. If you have your sights set on finding a community to call home, a job or a school to attend, you’ll find what you love in Toronto.
Want to relax and slow life down a little? Take a break in one of the city’s botanical gardens, take a walk along the boardwalk at The Beaches or plan a picnic at Toronto Centre Island. When you’re looking for a bit more excitement on your day off or on a weekend, there’s always Ripley’s Aquarium, the Toronto Zoo or one of 30 street fairs and festivals that pop up throughout the year. Lastly, summer wouldn’t be summer without the Canadian National Exhibition (CNE) with its food, games, entertainment and midway.
Toronto is proud to be a fanatical sports city. The Rogers Centre, Air Canada Centre and BMO field host several professional and semi-professional sports teams, namely the Toronto Blue Jays, Maple Leafs, Marlies, Argos, Raptors, Rock and FC soccer team. If attending a game doesn’t fit in your schedule, you could always take a tour of one of the stadiums or visit the Hockey Hall of Fame.
Toronto’s museums and galleries provide hours of discovery within the arts and science communities at The Royal Ontario Museum, Art Gallery of Ontario, Ontario Science Centre, Bata Shoe Museum (yes shoes!) or Spadina Museum – there’s always something new and exciting happening during the year you won’t want to miss!
Toronto has unlimited hotels and conference centres for tourists, business trips, honeymoons, weekend getaways or a night out on the town. With over 43,000 hotel rooms, there is no question you will be able to find the style, price and location you are looking for.
Hungry? There’s no shortage of restaurants in Toronto. The city is well known for a wide selection of delicious cuisines from Italian, Portuguese, Greek, Japanese, Chinese, Indian and so much more! There’s a fine-dining experience, all-day breakfast or on-the-go snacks just waiting for you all throughout Toronto. You can also quench your thirst at a local pub or wine bar in one of Toronto’s amazing neighbourhoods.
Find your new favourite nightspot downtown, uptown, east or west end. From concerts at the Budweiser Stage (formerly the Molson Amphitheatre) to upscale cocktail lounges and friendly pubs, you're bound to find the perfect establishment to spend some time relaxing with friends and catching up over a pint. Additionally, the city’s entertainment landscape is rich with live theatre and entertainment. Take in the Toronto Film Festival in early September where more than 300 movies from over 60 countries are premiered. You may even catch a glimpse of the featured performers, film producers or directors if you’re lucky!
If shopping is one of your favourite hobbies, Toronto has you covered. With its quaint boutiques and shopping malls to choose from, you won’t know where to start first! There are so many options from the Toronto Eaton Centre, boutiques in Yorkville or shop-until-you-drop at Fairview Mall, Sherway Gardens or Yorkdale Mall. Moreover, the weather will never interrupt your shopping sprees due to the “Path” system. This is Toronto’s underground “city” with tunnels that stretch out beneath the downtown core. It also holds the Guinness Book of Records as the largest underground shopping mall in the world. If food is your thing, create some variety in your groceries by shopping for fresh produce, meat or baked goods at the St. Lawrence Market, Kensington Market or Leslieville Farmers’ Market.
Toronto’s educational programs include the Toronto District School Board, Toronto Catholic District School Board, private schools, Montessori, French immersion, art and music schools, Canadian Forces, colleges, York University, Ryerson University and the University of Toronto.
