Hey KB community it’s Trish Riswick, your Marketing Manager and Event Coordinator. On July 7th Knowledge Broker Real Estate hosted our 2nd Annual Summer Swim! Our team had an amazing day and so did our guests. The weather was perfect, food was delicious, and we raised awareness and donations for Inn From The Cold’s summer relief efforts! All in all, I couldn’t have been happier.
This event was special to me as it was my inaugural event as KB’s new Event Coordinator. I started working at Knowledge Broker in May and within two weeks I was handed my first community event, Summer Swim. I couldn’t even remember my email password and now I am planning our annual event!
I was given a list of supplies, food requirements and a lot of freedom to make this event exactly what I wanted it to look like. As my first event, I had to prove that I could do this and make my team proud.
Over the next few weeks, I created plenty of marketing materials, arranged the paperwork and started gathering supplies. I was in a comfortable place moving forward. At one group meeting though, Josh presented the question “How do we make this bigger and better?”
Our team deliberated and developed the ideas of a gift card draw, a pool float giveaway and allowing our KB friends and family exclusive access to the pool before the public.
The days leading up to Summer Swim, I was nervous yet very excited. I was in hyper mode prepping schedules and organizing the final meeting with the KB team. We all came together to organize and arrange all of our supplies to make it a smooth day. I want to thank the KB team for being so amazing during the planning process, I couldn’t have done it without them.
On the day of, Josh, Jaimie, Ryah and myself worked together perfectly to have everything fall into place. As clients started to arrive, we were happy to see some familiar faces and for Jaimie and myself, a few new ones.
At the end of our day, we were so happy and excited to give the gracious donations directly to Ann Watson, Executive Director from Inn From The Cold. This organization does so much for our community it was really rewarding to be able to help as much as we did. We could not have done it without the support of all our guests so thank you!
We have already started planning for next year’s Summer Swim and we have asked the question again “How can we make this bigger and better?” Please tell us if you have any ideas and we will see you again next year for this day of fun and generosity!
