Well, it’s official. Spring is here and with it a very competitive real estate market. The Spring market is notorious for being the busiest time of year for real estate and this year is already gearing up to be like no other. We’ve already had a few crazy months in the real estate world so to help you navigate the months ahead, here are 5 things you need to know about the 2021 Spring Market.

#1 You Need To Have A Plan

Even more than any year before, you need to have a plan. Whether you are buying or selling, you need to work very closely with a trusted real estate agent to ensure you are on the same page. You need to discuss what you want and where you would like to live. This way you and your agent can focus your energy on the homes you want versus just window shopping. You also need to have your finances in order and ready to put in an offer.

#2 Your Home Needs To Look Its Best

If you want your house to get attention from multiple buyers with competitive offers, your house needs to look its best. The homes that show the best are selling for top dollar in a short period. That means your home needs to be clean and decluttered. You also need a real estate agent who has a stager and a professional photographer ready to go. This way your house is being shown perfectly in person and in photographs.

#3 Prices Will Likely Level Out

We are slowly seeing a rise in inventory which is great for the buyers who are currently looking. However, this does mean prices will likely level out. So if you are a seller who is looking to ride this wave of high selling prices we need to get your house on the market immediately.

#4 Always Consider Who Your Buyer Is

When it comes to getting your house ready for the market you always need to think about who your ideal buyer is. This will come in handy with staging and marketing. Working with your real estate agent, you will be able to outline who the house is ideal for and how to appeal to their needs. This might also come in handy when reviewing your offers.

#5 Be Prepared To Act Fast!

This market is moving very quickly and at a moment’s notice, you need to be ready to make a decision. That goes for both buyers and sellers. Buyers, if you find a house you like, you need to act fast as it might be off the market by the end of the day. You need to put your emotions aside and think about the logistics of each house you look at. This isn’t the time to go with your heart but with your head. Sellers, if you find an offer that’s perfect for you, take it. This isn’t the time to weigh the pros and cons of each.
