We have learned a lot over the last year including, how to appreciate the areas in our home we can call our escape. One of the best at-home escapes we’ve all come to appreciate is the backyard. Once that warm weather comes along, we almost forget about the cold months we were locked inside. That’s why we wanted to share a few ideas on how you can create a budget-friendly outdoor escape no matter your square footage.
 
Number 1: Decorate Vertically
 
If you are tight on backyard space but still want to decorate, try decorating vertically. This tip will help make your space feel cozy, large, and uniquely yours. Do this successfully with small potted plants, wall art, mirrors or even an artificial turf wall to add more greenery.
 
Number 2: Add More Privacy
 
Add a layer of privacy between you and your neighbours by installing curtains, outdoor shades or a wooden privacy divider. Coming in a variety of shapes and styles, you will be able to find the one that suits you and your backyard best.
 
Number 3: Add Lights
 
Lighting is important when creating the perfect outdoor oasis. Adding outdoor string lights or table lights will create a cozy and intimate spot for you to enjoy late into the night. Keep in mind that lights will attract bugs. To avoid this, light lemongrass or citronella incense or install an outdoor fan.
 
Number 4: Add Multi-Use Furniture
 
If you enjoy entertaining and need furniture to accommodate your guests pick each piece wisely. You want to make the most out of the space you have. Smart furniture choices would include a fire table that can be covered to act as a centrepiece, a sofa that comes with room below for storage or an ottoman that can work as a footrest, extra seating or a table.
