The weather has been beautiful lately. Let’s hope this continues all the way into October! It’s clear that the summer of 2020 is not like any summer before. Between social distancing and having to wear masks everywhere (PSA: WEAR A MASK), it might feel like we can’t enjoy our staple Canadian summer activities. But, that’s just not the case. We can still enjoy an outdoor barbeque with the people we’ve chosen to be in our bubble of 10. So, here are 5 ways to boost your summer 2020 outdoor BBQs.

  1.  BYOB&C – Bring Your Own Booze & Chairs
Right now, we need to social distance with a maximum of 10 people at any gathering. To maintain space and cleanliness have guests bring their own drinks and their own chairs. Pre-organize the backyard so when guests arrive they know where to set up. Plus at the end of the night, they pack up their empties and their seats. That means less clean up to do for you.

  1. Barbeque Smores
After dinner, it’s time for dessert but do not turn off the barbeque just yet. You can actually make a classic campfire treat on the grill. Smores! On the cooler side of the grill place the graham crackers, chocolate and marshmallows on a piece of tinfoil. Let the chocolate melt and then serve to your guests. Not only is it less mess but it takes less time too.

  1. Create A Giant Bubble Wand
This fun DIY project can keep your kids entertained throughout the night and all summer long. you need is two rods, a couple of screws, twine, soap and a bucket or kiddie pool.

  1. Create An Outdoor Ambiance
As the night fades away, create the perfect summer ambiance to keep the party going. Add outdoor lights, bring out a speaker and invest in an outdoor fire pit to keep guests cozy and let them roast some marshmallows.

  1. Create Natural Bug Repellent

Did you know that mosquitos are repelled by sage? We didn’t! After you’ve finished using the BBQ, turn it off and place some sage on it. The heat will release incenses and keep the bugs away. A practical and eco-friendly technique.

This summer is truly unlike any summer we have ever experienced before but you can still get your friends and family together and enjoy it. If you have any tips on how to upgrade your summer BBQ’s please email them to us. We would love to be able to share it with our friends and followers.
